Reader E-mails and Teaserness

Before I post the Tuesday Teaser, I wanted to get some blog business out of the way first.

First of all, I've been asked to do a post on value sketches, so that'll be coming sometime this week. Second of all, if you have other topics that you're interested in hearing me blog about (like the time last week I had to jump sock foot out one of my windows)(or art stuff, even!), feel free to email me to ask. Third of all, some blog readers have emailed me and I've tried to send emails back, only to see my responses successfully repelled by over-zealous spam filters. If you haven't heard from me, this is probably why! Try resending your email.

Okay. Now onto Teaser Tuesday.

Another Tuesday Teaser! As usual, I'm counting down the remaining Tuesday's to my debut novel's release (Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception) by posting a teaser scene from the novel here. With the characters disguised in other species to keep from being spoilery, of course.

So there are technically 6 more Tuesdays until the novel comes out but rumor has it that the book is going to be early, especially if you order directly from Flux here. That means that little baby Laments could show up in bookstores in . . . weeks. Sniff. I got my cover flats a few days ago. Sniff. My little novel is getting all grown up and moving out.

Anyway, here's the teaser. With insect goodness.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, more symbolic significance in the choice of animals??!! The praying mantis is a predator... This is sooo much fun.

Pn second thought, I'm not sure it's necessarily a good thing that I'm so easily amused.
