OHMIGOSH

I . . . um . . . it's hard to type. I wasn't going to post on this blog before I picked winners for the book. But I just got off the phone with my editor and it's really hard to type because my right hand won't stop shaking since I heard the news from my editor. But, um . . . SHIVER debuted at #9 at the NYT Bestseller List. Um.

Um.

I am having a very hard time thinking.

I took a picture of myself right after I hung up the phone with David at Scholastic (with my wonderful publicist friends at Scholastic screaming behind him). You can see just how coherent I look.

Um.

This is making my hand shake again.

My husband is taking me out for chimichangas. I think this will help.

Oh my gosh guys. Just thanks for putting me there. It'll be in the 16th's edition of the NYT. OH MAN.

Congratulations! I wasn't one of your blog readers for long before you switched over to writing, but I actually thought of you the other day and wondered "what ever happened to that artist who switched from pet portraits (I know you did other stuff too) to writing?" So I popped by your blog just in time to see the news, that's wonderful! Very encouraging to those of us following any sort of creative pursuit. I'm going to check out your new blog now!

I started reading your art blog a few years ago when I found you through WetCanvas.com. I thought your colored pencil art was amazing and as an artist myself, was so inspired by you. Today I read your blog again for the first time in a long while, and oh my gosh, I am so excited for you and your success and inspired all over again. I haven't painted lately due to a major block and a really tough year. After reading your blog today I came home from work and started on a new painting, my first in about 6 months. I have no more excuses! I can't wait to read Shiver! You go, girl! :)
